A free calculator, and the limits of it
What this site is
Rupee Exit is a free, public calculator operated by EthicSend LLC, a company registered in Ohio, USA as entity #5649584. You give it a rupee amount and the exchange rate your bank quoted you. It compares that rate against a published mid-market reference and shows the difference in dollars.
There is no account and nothing to sign up for. Using the site is your acceptance of these terms; if you do not accept them, the remedy is not to use it.
What it is not
It is not advice. Nothing on this site is tax advice, legal advice, financial advice or an investment recommendation, and no relationship of adviser and client is created by reading it. Anything that needs interpreting should go to a Chartered Accountant or an attorney.
It is not a money service. We never receive, hold, route or initiate a payment. You execute every wire yourself, at your own bank, with your own credentials. We are not a money transmitter, we are not a bank, and we are not an authorised dealer.
It is not a comparison site. We make no claim about what any named bank charges, and there is no bank selector. The only rate specific to you is the one you type in.
The figures, and their limits
The mid-market reference is the European Central Bank's daily reference rate, republished by a third-party feed and shown with its publication date. It is a daily fix, not a live tradeable price, and the rate your bank can actually deal at will differ from it.
The flat charges used in the calculation — an outward SWIFT charge and a correspondent-bank deduction — are published typical ranges for the market, flagged as unverified estimates on screen. They are not a statement of what your bank will charge you, and the amount that reaches your US account may differ from what is shown.
The arithmetic between those figures is ours, it is set out in full on the disclosures page, and it is covered by automated tests. We will correct an error in it promptly and date the correction. We do not guarantee that the site is available, current, or free of error.
Use of the site
Use it for your own purposes, commercial or personal. Do not attempt to interfere with it, overload it, or represent its output as something we have verified about a named bank or a named person. The text, the design and the calculation are ours. Describing the method openly, as we do, is not a grant of any right to copy the site.
No warranty, and the limit of what we owe you
The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, EthicSend LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of this site — including any exchange-rate outcome, tax outcome, delayed or rejected remittance, or decision taken in reliance on a figure shown here. This is a free tool that asserts arithmetic on numbers you supply; the decision to send money, and its consequences, remain yours and your bank's.
Changes, and the law that applies
We may change the site or these terms. Material changes will be dated here rather than slipped in, and the version history of this page is public in the repository.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here limits any right you have under a law that cannot be waived by agreement.
Questions about these terms go to hello@ethicsend.com. What we assert and what we do not is set out in detail on the disclosures page, and what we store — nothing — on the privacy page.
