About
A tool that asserts almost nothing
Who runs it
Rupee Exit is operated by EthicSend LLC, a company registered in Ohio, USA as entity #5649584. That number is checkable in the Ohio business registry, which is the point of printing it.
The people behind it are from the community it serves — Indians in the US, moving money in both directions, and tired of paying for a rate nobody would show them.
We built this for the outward leg because it is the one nobody explains. Money going into India is quoted everywhere, compared publicly and argued over. Money leaving an NRO account is priced once, inside a rate, by a desk you never speak to — on an amount that is usually far larger, and usually a once-in-a-lifetime transfer rather than a monthly habit you get good at.
Why it is free
Because a checker that costs money is a checker nobody uses, and because we want to be believed later about something that does cost money. The tool takes thirty seconds, it names no bank, and it works whether or not you ever speak to us. That is the entire business case for giving it away.
There is no email capture on this site, no analytics, and no account. Not as a feature — as a constraint we have chosen to keep, because “we do not store what you type” is only worth saying while it is true by construction.
The two things we do
One is free. One is not built yet
The rate checker
A managed property exit
The rule everything is built on
We never receive, hold, route or initiate a payment. Not on the free tool, and not on the paid service. You wire the money yourself, from your own NRO account, at your own bank, with your own credentials.
That is not modesty. It is what keeps this outside money transmission, outside the practice of accountancy, and outside the practice of law — three regimes that would each change what we are allowed to say to you. We supply process, timing, price and arithmetic. Every question that needs interpreting goes to a Chartered Accountant or an attorney, and we say so rather than guessing.
The full position, including what is verified and what is not, is on the disclosures page. The arithmetic itself is written out step by step — five lines of division and subtraction you can repeat on a phone calculator, which is the only way a claim about someone else's money is checkable by the person being asked to believe it.
